DREAMING OF SUNSHINE EXCHANGE LETTER

 

 

General Stuff:

 

 

I'm pretty familiar with the recursive fics – particularly Wafflelate's Gardens fic, which are great! – so I'm more than happy to have recursive based stuff. I love time travel of all kinds and fix it fics, but also slice-of-life-where-nothing-happens style scenes and character introspection.

 

I tend to like characters interacting in friendly, supportive contexts – buddy cop, Eternal Rivals, Team As Family dynamics, rather than in unnecessary conflict or at odds with each other!

 

I'm not a big fan of most of the villains – Orochimaru, Kabuto, Akatsuki, Danzo, Madara etc – so I've included 'Villain Focused' in my DNW's. They can make excellent antagonists, but I'm not really looking for fics up close and focused on them! This unfortunately includes things like Otohime AU and Shikako In Akatsuki AUs.

 

 

Rating:

 

 

I've picked 'Teen And Up Audiences' for all prompts, because that's the canon-typical violence rating of DoS and Naruto and I feel like it covers any references to Ninja Doing Ninja Stuff that might come up, not because I'm specifically looking for any fights etc to happen on screen. If you write something pure gen, I'll be perfectly happy too.

• That's a lot of tags! Don't worry, it's simply because for this prompt I picked pretty much picked everything that's 'people react to' or 'people have an opinion on'.
• I'm really fascinated by how characters would react to other characters or events that have happened in DoS. There's a real culture of information secrecy that affects who has what information and what conclusions they can draw! Since we all know the truth, it's interesting to consider what perspectives the characters themselves might have, since they don't actually know (and are occasionally being actively prevented from finding out!)
• The Land of Hotsprings Destruction and Isobu's Defeat are strong contenders, but any event or character is fine!

• I'm really interested in ninja being superhumans. Not only does it help them with combat, but also day to day things. Ninja can walk on walls, keep their tea hot, keep their drinks from spilling while they leap across rooftops, ignore the weather. How many daily inconveniences do they bypass? • One of the early themes of Naruto was that each generation would surpass the last one. How about something where that really seems to be true?
• Adults mentoring and passing down the hard lessons they learnt. Adults being astounded by how strong these kids are. Kids looking up to their sensei and senpai but recognising that the world is changing and those ways don't necessarily work anymore. So many possibilities!
